Dr. Mari Carmen Aguayo-Torres received the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universidad de Málaga, Spain, in 2001 (M.S. 1994) with a thesis on Adaptive OFDM. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Ingeniería de Comunicaciones at the same university. She has published more than 100 papers in international journals and conferences and her main research interests include adaptive modulation and coding for fading channels, generalized MIMO, cooperative communications, OFDM and SC-FDMA, crosslayer design, and probabilistic QoS guarantees within mobile cellular, satellite, underwater, M2M and vehicular networks. Dr. Aguayo-Torres is involved in a number of public and private funded projects and actively collaborates with industry, mainly in the field of wireless communications (5G, LTE-Advanced).
